So much for ten years of development, folks!
According to a twitter caption and the folks at Engadget, Windows Mobile 7, the greatly anticipated new mobile OS for 2010(?) will NOT be compatible with our Windows Mobile 2003, 5, 6, even 6.5 applications!
For some this seems as a clumsy move as this is ten years of software being thrown out the window. A lot of the applications we use are circa 2005, let alone 2010!
On the other hand, Windows Mobile 7 is credited to being revolutionary, and having features none of us have ever seen before in the mobile world of technology. This means it wouldn’t be able to work with old software out of the box if it was something completely different. Besides, new software will offer a new age of guaranteed compatibility and new standards for the developers.
Perhaps Windows Mobile Compatibility Mode?
