According to two tipsters at Information Technology, HTC is currently hiring staff to prepare for the possible launch of an online store. One of the tipsters reports that HTC was hiring content editors for a planned online HTC store for its phones, including for e-books and magazines as well as for applications. As far as he understands, the team is going to consist of a small staff based in Taiwan, with plans to expand to 100 people in different locations around the world. With tips like this it sounds pretty promising!
Most of us know that HTC has really grown in the past couple of years. If you didn’t know well now you do. Their revenues in the third quarter have more than doubled from a year ago. With HTC doing so well of course you know their competition is going to try and step their game up too. Samsung may have beaten them in the previous quarter but with the launching of HTC’s own app store maybe they can move back above Samsung soon after.
So what would this mean for all of the HTC Android devices? Does this mean they will get access to the HTC store or do you think it will be for certain phones only? There seem to be a couple of questions I can’t find answers to just yet. Once I do, I’ll update this article!
