Verizon Wireless has released its 4th Quarter 2009 Revenue results and there are some stunning statistics. Keep in mind that all this occurred in just 4 months time.
- 162 billion text messages were sent or received (that’s 15,625 texts per second)
- 4 billion picture/video messages were sent or received
- 38 million music and videos were downloaded
- Verizon made $16 Billion in Mobile Data revenue (up 31% over 2008) and it accounted for 31.9% of Verizon’s total Q4 2009 Revenue (26.5% increase from the same period the previous year).
As texting, picture messages, and mobile data usage increases, these numbers will be on the rise. I am going to go out on a limb and say 180 billion text messages will be sent or received on Verizon for 1Q 2010. Post your guess in the comments below!
