Verizon Touch Pro 2 and Ozone owners can now escape from the Windows Mobile 6.1 woes and download a fully supported Verizon release of Windows Mobile 6.5. To get the download you just have to simply visit the web site of PCD (the new name of the company formerly known as UTStarcom) and you are minutes away from the latest version of Window Mobile.
Of course Windows Mobile 6.5 isn’t the wonderful dream that microsoft wants us to believe that it is, and we hope that Windows Mobile 7 brings us much closer to that dream, but it is a notable upgrade that certainly resolves many issues in Windows Mobile 6.1. The new interface is also a refreshing change and definitely a step in the right direction.
Before I pass along the links for download, I want to make sure that you are aware of the upgrade ramifications. When installing one of these updates, you will lose all personal information and customizations that you currently have on your phone. So make sure to backup your personal information to save yourself a lot of sadness with your new update.
